🍅 Southern Comfort with a Texas Twist: Haywire – The Domain, Austin, TX

By Summer Jenee’ | Travel & Food Blog | SummerJenee.com

If you’re looking for a restaurant at The Domain in Austin, TX that combines Southern comfort with bold Texas flavors, Haywire is the place. From the moment I sat down, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting the kind of place that works just as well for a date night as it does for dinner with friends.

We kicked things off with two standout appetizers: the fried green tomatoes topped with bacon jam and the lump crab dip. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly crisp with a light tang, and the bacon jam gave them just the right balance of sweet and savory. The crab dip was creamy, rich, and packed with flavor you could taste the freshness in every bite.

For entrées, we went with the grilled chipotle meatloaf and the Farmhouse Bowl. The meatloaf was hearty, smoky, and full of bold flavor, while the Farmhouse Bowl was fresh, colorful, and satisfying without being heavy. Service was attentive but not rushed, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to make sure we had a great experience.

If you’re at The Domain and want a meal that feels both comforting and elevated, Haywire is absolutely worth the visit.

Pro Tip: Start with the fried green tomatoes you’ll thank me later.
