If you’re ever near Aldrich Street in Austin, do yourself a favor and stop by Lick Honest Ice Cream. This place was one of the highlights of my trip to Austin — local, fresh, and full of flavor you won’t find anywhere else. The moment you walk in, the vibe is clean and welcoming, and the staff actually seem happy to be there (which matters to me) which really helped to create the environment.
Now let’s talk about the ice cream. It’s not just good — it’s thoughtfully good. I tried the Goat Cheese, Thyme & Honey and tried another flavor but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was…it did pair well with my other scoop. It was giving creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. You can tell they’re using real ingredients and not cutting corners.
What I love most is how they lean into unique Texas-inspired flavors, but it did not taste weird even though it did not sound like it was going to be good. It was just enough creativity to keep you curious and enough comfort to keep you coming back. I liked it so much I joined the scoop society.
Parking was easy, the line moved quick, and the whole experience just felt easy and worth it. If you’re looking for dessert with a little twist — this is your spot!
